Key points
- India and Pakistan, both 2 points from one win, meet in Group A at 10:30 am IST on Sunday.
- India won their opener by 10 wickets; Pakistan chased 225 against the UAE with Usman Khan on 139 not out.

India and Pakistan, the two sides that have started the Men’s Under-19 Asia Cup with comfortable wins, meet in Group A at Al Amerat, Oman, on Sunday, November 8. The toss is at 10:00 am IST and play starts at 10:30 am IST.
India, captained by Lakshya Raichandani, beat Nepal by 10 wickets on Friday. Nepal were bowled out for 128, with Ishan Sood and Arjun Rajput taking three wickets each, and openers Aaryavir Sehwag and Raichandani, both unbeaten on fifties, finished the chase in 19.1 overs. Pakistan, led by Farhan Yousuf, beat the UAE by nine wickets, chasing 225 in 37.3 overs as Usman Khan hit an unbeaten 139 off 120 balls.
Both teams have two points, and only the top two in the group go through to the semi-finals, so Sunday’s result could settle the group early. UAE and Nepal also play each other on the same day.
The record
India lead the rivalry at this level. In youth ODIs they have won 21 of 32 meetings, and in the Asia Cup they have 9 wins to Pakistan’s 3, with one no result in 13 meetings. The most recent meeting at the Under-19 World Cup in February 2026 went India’s way by 58 runs after they defended 252.
Pakistan have the more painful memory from the last Asia Cup, though. They beat India in the 2025 final by 191 runs, with Sameer Minhas scoring 172, after India had won the group game between the two by 90 runs.
Squads
India’s 15 also include vice-captain Yashbardhan Singh Chauhan, wicketkeepers Anvay Dravid and Rajat Baghel, and Kushagra Ojha, Manal Chauhan and Aryan Savsani. Pakistan’s squad has Abdul Qadir and Hamza Zahoor as wicketkeepers and the bowler Mohammad Sayyam, who took 3 for 37 against the UAE.
India finish their group campaign against the UAE on November 10.
