Prema Rawat hits a 14-ball fifty, the fastest in women's T20 cricket, as Uttarakhand crush Hyderabad
The 24-year-old all-rounder beat Fatima Sana's 15-ball mark in the Senior Women's T20 Trophy in Pune, then took two wickets in an 89-run win.

Key points
- Prema Rawat reached 50 off 14 balls, the fastest fifty in women's T20 cricket.
- She broke the record of 15 balls set by Pakistan's Fatima Sana earlier this year.
- Uttarakhand made 187 for 2 and beat Hyderabad by 89 runs in Pune.
Prema Rawat needed just 14 balls in Pune on Monday to write her name into the record books, hitting the fastest fifty in women’s T20 cricket for Uttarakhand against Hyderabad in the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy.
The 24-year-old India all-rounder came in at number four and finished unbeaten on 50 off 14 balls, a strike rate of 357. She and opener Raghvi Bist added an unbroken 58 in the last 2.5 overs as Uttarakhand, who chose to bat, piled up 187 for 2.
The innings beat the previous best of 15 balls by Pakistan’s Fatima Sana, set against Zimbabwe in 2026. Sweden’s Anya Vaidya is next on the list with a 16-ball fifty, ahead of a group on 18 balls that includes Sophie Devine, Phoebe Litchfield and India wicketkeeper Richa Ghosh.
Bist’s own effort was a fine one. The opener carried her bat for 72 not out off 50 balls, holding the innings together before Prema’s late assault took the total out of Hyderabad’s reach.
Hyderabad never came close. They finished on 98 for 8, and Prema finished the job with the ball too, taking two wickets as Uttarakhand won by 89 runs.
It leaves Prema with a world mark of her own, and every big hitter in the women’s game with a new target to chase.
