Fortis Healthcare on Thursday reported a 17.3% rise in consolidated revenue for the July-September quarter, to ₹2,735 crore, as its hospitals drew in more business. Net profit for the quarter came in at ₹320 crore.
The company, one of India’s largest private hospital chains, filed the results with the stock exchanges in the evening after its board met on November 5, 2026. Revenue was up from about ₹2,331 crore in the same quarter a year earlier, while net profit stayed broadly level with last year, when the company had posted a sharp jump in earnings.
The quarter’s profit margin worked out to 11.7%.
Hospitals carry the growth
The hospital business did the heavy lifting. Its revenue rose 18.6% to ₹2,340 crore, with a profit margin of 12.1%. The diagnostics arm, which runs pathology labs across the country, grew more slowly: gross revenue rose 12.2% to ₹448 crore, though its profit margin improved to 15.2%.
For the first half of the financial year, consolidated revenue rose to ₹5,279.86 crore from ₹4,498.16 crore a year earlier.
The balance sheet stayed light. Fortis ended September with net debt of ₹2,188 crore, or 0.87 times its operating profit, and a net debt to equity ratio of 0.20.
The company also said investigations by agencies into matters linked to its erstwhile promoters are still going on, and that it is fully cooperating with all agencies. Management believes the impact of these matters is not material, it said in its filing.
Fortis is majority-owned by Malaysia’s IHH Healthcare. Its shares will react to the numbers when trading opens on Friday.
