Festive buying lifted Hyundai Motor India's domestic sales and exports to all-time highs, with the new Venue setting a record of its own.

Key points
- Hyundai sold 82,299 vehicles in October, its highest monthly total, up 17.7% on a year ago.
- Domestic sales reached a record 62,799 units, while exports rose 21.1% to 19,500.

Hyundai Motor India has had the biggest month in its history. The carmaker sold 82,299 vehicles in October, 17.7% more than a year earlier, as festive buying around Dussehra and Diwali filled its order books at home and abroad.
Sales in India rose 16.7% to an all-time high of 62,799 units. Exports, which Hyundai has been building up from its Indian plants, climbed 21.1% to 19,500 vehicles. The company said the numbers came in a filing to the stock exchanges on Sunday morning.
The star of the month was the Venue compact SUV, at 13,017 units, its highest domestic monthly figure. Small SUVs have been the busiest corner of the Indian car market this festive season.
“October 2026 has been an exceptional month for Hyundai Motor India,” said Tarun Garg, managing director and chief executive. He credited “strong festive demand, coupled with healthy momentum in both domestic and export markets” for the record, and said the newly launched Bayon is expected to add further momentum in India and in export markets.
The rest of the industry reports through the day. Maruti Suzuki, the market leader, saw its pending bookings grow from about 2 lakh at the start of October to about 2.7 lakh vehicles after Dussehra, having sold roughly 2.36 lakh units to dealers in September. Tata Motors and Mahindra, locked in a close fight for second place, are also due to publish their October numbers on Sunday.
