Maruti Suzuki sells a record 276,120 vehicles in October, exports up 59%
India's biggest carmaker posted its highest monthly sales ever, 25% above last October, as festive demand at home and shipments abroad both hit new peaks.

Key points
- Maruti Suzuki sold 276,120 vehicles in October, its best month ever.
- Domestic sales reached an all-time high of 216,789 units.
- Exports jumped about 59% to 49,872 units.
Maruti Suzuki sold 276,120 vehicles in October, the highest monthly total in its history, the company said in a stock exchange filing on Sunday. That is 25% more than the 220,894 it sold in October 2025, a month that itself had been a record.
Sales in India, counting passenger cars, utility vehicles, vans and light commercial vehicles, reached an all-time high of 216,789 units, up about 20% from 180,675 a year earlier. Passenger vehicles alone came to 212,384, a big jump from the roughly 1.69 lakh the company sold in September.
Small and mid-size passenger cars accounted for 100,877 units, while utility vehicles like the Brezza and Grand Vitara added 97,787. The two are now almost level, a sign of how far Indian buyers have moved towards SUVs.
Exports keep climbing
The sharper rise came from overseas. Maruti shipped 49,872 vehicles abroad, about 59% more than the 31,304 of last October. Sales to other carmakers, mainly Toyota, which sells rebadged Maruti models, were 9,459 units.
Maruti Suzuki, October sales
From April to October, Maruti has sold 16.55 lakh vehicles, up about 27% from 13 lakh a year earlier. The numbers top a strong day for the industry: Hyundai, Tata Motors and Mahindra also reported their October figures on Sunday, with Hyundai posting a record. The October totals will be the first test for Maruti shares when markets reopen on Monday.
