Key points

  1. Hero MotoCorp dispatched 7,34,403 two-wheelers in October, up 15.5% on a year ago.
  2. Scooter dispatches rose 60.8% to 1,04,603, far faster than motorcycles.
  3. Exports fell 5.4% to 29,319 units while domestic dispatches grew 16.6%.

Hero MotoCorp, India’s largest two-wheeler maker, dispatched 7,34,403 vehicles in October, 15.5% more than the 6,35,808 it sent out a year earlier, according to figures the company filed with the stock exchanges on Sunday evening.

Almost all of the growth came from the home market. Domestic dispatches rose 16.6% to 7,05,084, from 6,04,829 in October 2025, helped by festive demand for scooters and 100cc commuter motorcycles.

Scooters lead the gains

The sharpest jump was in scooters. Hero shipped 1,04,603 scooters, up 60.8% from 65,055 a year ago. Motorcycles, still the core of the business, grew a steadier 10.4% to 6,29,800.

Overseas business went the other way. Exports fell 5.4% to 29,319 units, from 30,979 a year earlier, and now make up only about 4% of the company’s volume.

Hero’s electric brand Vida dispatched 30,143 units, up 4.7% from September. The company said Vida’s share of the electric two-wheeler market rose to 13.6% from 11.1%, and that its registrations on the government’s Vahan portal grew 80% on a year earlier.

The dispatch figure is not the same as what buyers took home. Vahan data show 5,89,665 Hero vehicles registered in October, about 1.45 lakh fewer than the company sent to dealers. October was also softer than September, when Hero dispatched 7,66,348 units, a fall of 4.2% month on month.

For the financial year so far, April to October, Hero has dispatched 42,79,878 vehicles, up 15.9% on the same period last year.
