Key points

  1. JSW MG Motor India sold 8,013 vehicles in October, up 19% on a year ago.
  2. Customers began taking delivery of the Hector Tomahawk EV during the month.
  3. A new Windsor Indulge Edition went on sale at ₹17.99 lakh ex-showroom.

JSW MG Motor India sold 8,013 vehicles in October, 19% more than in the same month last year, the company’s figures released on Sunday afternoon showed.

The rise came in a festive month in which several carmakers posted their best numbers on record. MG works from a much smaller base than the market leaders, but its growth kept pace with several of them.

New electric models

October was the month deliveries of the Hector Tomahawk EV began, adding a larger electric SUV to a line-up that already includes the Windsor and other battery-powered cars.

The company also brought out a special edition of that car. The Windsor Indulge Edition is priced at ₹17.99 lakh, ex-showroom, giving MG’s best-known electric model a fresh variant for the festive season.

The company did not give a breakdown between petrol, diesel and electric sales for the month.

MG’s growth lands on a day of strong numbers across the industry. Kia reported a record 33,462 units, while Hyundai, Maruti Suzuki and Mahindra also posted record October totals.
