Key points

  1. Kia India dispatched 33,462 vehicles in October, up 13.2% on a year ago and its best month ever.
  2. The Seltos sold more than 13,000 units, close to four in ten Kias sold.
  3. Sales from January to October reached 2,86,470 units, already past the full 2025 total.

Kia India sold 33,462 vehicles in October, the most it has ever dispatched to dealers in a single month, the company’s figures released on Sunday afternoon showed. That is 13.2% more than the 29,556 it sold in October 2025.

It is the carmaker’s second record month in a row. September’s 32,017 units had been the previous high, and October beat it by a further 1,445 cars as festive buying ran on after Dussehra.

The Seltos does the heavy lifting

The new-generation Seltos, launched in January, sold more than 13,000 units, close to 40% of everything Kia sold in the month. It has averaged over 10,000 a month since its launch, making it the backbone of the brand’s run this year.

Cleaner fuels are also adding up. CNG versions of the Carens and Carens Clavis people movers made up nearly a tenth of October sales, and Kia said its electric cars had their best month yet, with volumes up 31% on September on the back of the Syros EV and the Carens Clavis EV.

Atul Sood, senior vice-president for sales and marketing at Kia India, put the record down to festive demand, the pull of the company’s established models and the response to newer ones. He singled out interest in the Sorento, which is offered with hybrid and diesel engines, along with the growing share of CNG and electric cars.

Already past last year

From January to October, Kia sold 2,86,470 vehicles, up 21.3% on the same months of 2025. That is already 6,184 more than the 2,80,286 it sold in the whole of last year, with two months still to go.

The numbers come on a day when Hyundai, Maruti Suzuki and Mahindra also reported record October numbers, as festive demand kept showrooms busy across the industry.
